The San Francisco 49ers are playing exactly the kind of game they want to play, and they lead the division rival Los Angeles Rams 21-7 at halftime of “Monday Night Football.”
San Fran’s first two drives of the game totaled 29 plays, 184 yards, and 14 points, and they took a combined 18 minutes and 55 seconds off the clock. In between those two possessions, the Niners got themselves a pick-six off Matthew Stafford. They controlled the game with the run, utilizing Elijah Mitchell, Jeff Wilson Jr., and even Deebo Samuel to get steady gains down the field. The Rams had a chance to cut the lead to 21-10 late in the first half, but tried a fake field goal instead and the play was unsuccessful.
