Cam Reddish is already getting accustomed to the New York fan base after the Hawks traded him to the Knicks on Thursday night.
After the move was made public, Reddish — the 10th overall pick by the Hawks in the 2019 NBA Draft — posted a fitting message to his Instagram Story, writing, “Bing Bong” with a crying-laughing emoji.
The viral term became a celebratory chant that Knicks fans have bonded over this season — following a thrilling double overtime win against the Celtics to open the season in October.
The Knicks used the phrase in a tweet at the time, and players, celebrities and late night hosts also hopped on the trend.
On Thursday, the Knicks announced the reunion of their star guard RJ Barrett with his former Duke teammate.
In the deal, New York sent Kevin Knox and a 2022 first-round pick (via the Hornets) to the Hawks for Reddish, Solomon Hill and a 2025 second-round pick, via Brooklyn.
Reddish, 22, averaged career highs in points (11.9) on 40 percent shooting in 34 games this season with Atlanta. His three-point percentage is also up from last year, at 38 percent.
It’s unclear when Reddish will make his debut with the Knicks. He missed Wednesday’s Atlanta loss against the Heat due to an ankle sprain.
