Bucs take two-score lead: After stopping the Giants on fourth-and-1 at the Tampa Bay 26-yard line, the Buccaneers opened a two-touchdown lead. A 5-yard Tom Brady to Mike Evans pass capped a 10-play, 74-yard drive, making the score 24-10 Tampa Bay with 7:31 left in the third quarter.
Bucs lead at the half, 17-10: The Giants will get the ball to start the second half. Daniel Jones is 11 of 16 for 81 yards passing and a TD. Bucs QB Tom Brady is 20 of 29 for 198 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Giants on the board: A 37-yard Graham Gano field goal got the Giants on the board, making the score 7-3 with 6:59 left in the first quarter. The Giants, league-worst in the red zone, went 56 yards in 13 plays and reached the Bucs 14-yard line, but had to settle for three points.
Tampa Bay takes early lead: The Buccaneers took the opening kickoff and went 73 yards in eight plays for an easy opening touchdown and a 7-0 lead with 11:09 left in the first quarter. The touchdown came on a 13-yard pass from Tom Brady to Chris Godwin.
Will the New York Giants be contenders or pretenders? That is really what is on the line for the Giants Monday night when they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (ESPN, 8:15 p.m.).
The 3-6 Giants are 10.5-point underdogs to the home-standing 6-3 Buccaneers, who are the defending Super Bowl champions.
An upset of Tampa Bay would make the Giants 4-6. Seven teams make the conference playoffs, and right now the final two wild-card spots are held by the Minnesota Vikings, who are both 5-5. A victory would put the Giants within a game of the final wild-card spot, in a cluster of eight teams with 5-5 or 4-6 records.
A loss and the Giants sit at 3-7, joining the Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears. The only team in the NFC with a worse won-loss record is the 0-9-1 Detroit Lions.
The Giants will be buoyed by the return of left tackle Andrew Thomas, who was activated from IR on Monday, and running back Saquon Barkley, who will play after missing four games with an ankle injury.
Logan Ryan, on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, will not play for the Giants.
