Tom Brady threw four touchdowns to extend his league lead, the Chargers fought off a Bengals rally to notch a big road victory and the Lions are winless no more. The Athletic’s Jeff Howe, Lindsay Jones and Dan Pompei break down the action from lucky Week 13.
What did the Cardinals show you vs. the Bears in Kyler Murray’s return?
Howe: Murray didn’t appear to have any rust issues or lingering concerns with the ankle as he operated an efficient offense and had success running the ball. That’ll be particularly important in future games against the Rams, Colts and Cowboys — superior opponents to the Bears. And the Cardinals defense remains opportunistic with four interceptions, predictably handling a Bears offense that has been fighting it all season.
Jones: This is one of the deepest and most complete teams in the NFC, and getting their MVP candidate quarterback will only make them more dangerous down the stretch.
