The sheriff’s office said the two were ejected from the 2010 Nissan GT-R that Everett was driving along a winding, rural stretch of Gum Spring Road near Ticonderoga Road. The crash happened around 9:15 p.m., when their vehicle, which was traveling north, left the right side of roadway, struck several trees, and rolled over, according to the sheriff’s office.

“It’s a very difficult situation,” Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera said on Friday. He extended his sympathies to the families of Peters and his strong safety.

“We’ll let the police and investigation go through and find out what happened,” Rivera said.

The team signed Everett in 2015 and offered him a three-year extension in 2019. Since then, he’s risen to become captain of defense and special teams. Rivera confirmed Everett has serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

“Our family is devastated by the loss of our brilliant and beautiful daughter, Olivia Suzanne Peters,” the Peters Family said in a statement.

A native of Rockville, Maryland, Peters graduated from Our Lady Of Good Counsel High School in 2010, “where she excelled at everything she did.”

She went on to attend the University of South Carolina as an undergrad and Shenandoah University, where she earned her master’s degree in occupational therapy, according to her family’s statement.

“Recently, Olivia started OT practices in Las Vegas and in Manhattan. Her passion and sole focus in life was treating special needs and underprivileged children,” they said.

Peters opened Seeds of Success in Las Vegas in 2021, according to her online business licensing.

Shortly after the incident, the Washington Football Team acknowledged the crash, and extended “deepest sympathies to the family and friends who lost a loved one.”

The team said it has notified the NFL and “is working with local authorities as we continue to gather more information.”

The speed of the vehicle is being reviewed as the crash remains under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
