U.S. stock futures were muted amid earnings from Target and Lowe’s before the opening bell.  

Futures for the S&P 500 were flat Wednesday. The broad market index rose Tuesday, leaving it just short of last week’s closing high. Contracts for the tech-focused Nasdaq-100 rose 0.1% Wednesday and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell almost 0.1%.
