McDonald’s Corp. said it expects the rate of cost increases for food, paper and other materials in the U.S. to roughly double this year compared with 2021’s pace, as the burger giant wrestles with rising inflation.

Rising costs aren’t likely to wipe out McDonald’s recent gains in profitability, executives said, but will require the chain to balance menu-price increases while still offering value to customers.
