Chris Daughtry is “absolutely devastated and heartbroken” over the death of his stepdaughter, the singer said Saturday — as detectives reportedly told the family the 25-year-old woman was a victim of homicide.
Sources close to Daughtry’s family told TMZ on Saturday of the sinister development in the case a day after Hannah Price was discovered dead in her Tennessee home.
“I am still processing the last 24 hours. I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken,” Daughtry said in his statement posted to Facebook.
“I just recently in the last week lost my mother to cancer but I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I was processing it privately.
“We never got to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it’s another huge hit to our family,” the 41-year-old singer said.
Hannah’s boyfriend, Bobby Jolly, was arrested Friday at Fentress County Jail, TMZ reported — though it wasn’t immediately clear if his bust was related to the purported homicide.
A Fentress County sheriff’s deputy told The Post Saturday that Jolly is being held in the jail there pending a transfer to the Putnam County jail.
The sheriff’s deputy would not discuss the charges, nor would an officer who answered the phone at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department.
Daughtry, who rose to fame as a 2006 “American Idol” finalist, postponed his tour following his stepdaughter’s death.
Hannah and her brother Griffin, 23, are Chris’ wife Deanna Daughtry’s children from a previous relationship.
Chris and Deanna, 48, who met in 2000, have 10-year-old twins together, Adalynn Rose and Noah James.
Hannah’s mother said in a Saturday Instagram post that her daughter was injured before she died.
