We’re heading into overtime in Pittsburgh, as the Lions and Steelers were tied at 16 at the end of regulation. It’s a close game in Pittsburgh, where the Steelers and Lions were deadlocked at 10 at intermission. Pittsburgh is trying to move into first place in the AFC North division, while the Lions are vying for their first win of the 2021 season.

The Steelers started fast, with Mason Rudolph capped off the game’s first drive with a nine-yard touchdown pass to college teammate James Washington. Pittsburgh’s offense stalled after that, however, with two punts and an interception on its next three drives. One of Pittsburgh’s punts was returned 48 yards by Kalif Raymond. Raymond’s return set up Lions rookie running back Jermar Johnson’s 28-yard touchdown run.

Pittsburgh countered with a 13-play drive that was capped off by Chris Boswell’s 20-yard field goal. The Lions responded with Ryan Santoso’s 20-yard field goal on the final play of the half. Detroit’s final drive of the half was highlighted by D’Andre Swift’s 10-yard run on a fourth-and-1 play. The Lions forced a tied halftime score despite just 11 yards passing from Jared Goff.

Detroit took its first lead on Godwin Igwebuike’s 42-yard touchdown run to open the second half. Pittsburgh’s offense responded with a pair of Boswell field goals that included a 51-yard boot less than four minutes into the fourth quarter.

The two teams exchanged punts for the remainder of the quarter before Rudolph knelt on the pigskin on the final play of regulation.
